In 1946, Bob, Frank and Art Trulaske manufacture their first product and the first of its kind: a 40 cu. ft. upright freezer. Meat rations may have contributed to the popularity of the freezer for those who needed to preserve sides of beef acquired from the country.

1950s

1950s

Roll-Top units become more popular and True expands into International sales with coolers sold in the Caribbean and Central America.

1960s

1960s

New GDM Upright Glass Door Merchandisers, groundbreaking for their state-of-the-art fan motor technology and revolutionary “triple-pane” glass design, developed and bottler business continues to grow.

1970s

1970s

True begins sales within the foodservice industry, further developing and expanding its line of Horizontal Bottle Coolers, Glass Door Merchandisers and Underbar Refrigeration.

1980s

1980s

Continued success in the Foodservice industry is backed by two core models: T-Series® Traditional Reach-In and the Sandwich/Salad Food Prep Table. True also introduces the Undercounter and Worktop lines and Glass & Plate Chillers.

1990s

1990s

Orders from U.S. chain accounts continue to grow and walls fall in Berlin accelerating True’s growth internationally. True develops its first heated cabinet, Dual Temperature T-Series® and Chef Base units.

2000s

2000s

By 2006, True offers close to 800 models, including new additions such as Spec Series® lineup, Horizontal Freezers, Vertical Air Curtains and Curved Glass Display Cases. True Professional Series—now True Residential—is introduced.

2010s

2010s

True releases TFP Food Prep Line, the second generation of its Spec Series® and unveils a state-of-the-art powder coating facility for further customization. The pilot hydrocarbon model, a GDM-19T-HC, is released.

True introduces Premier Bar Series and offers new Grab ‘n Go Open Air Merchandisers.
